Guarding the truth.
And not only was Paul adamant about keeping himself centred on Jesus, he practically insisted that believers and Churches everywhere be centred on Jesus as well Paul's primary leadership strategy was to get believers and Christian leaders everywhere to "guard the good treasure"( 2 Timothy 1:14).about Jesus. He encouraged them to guard the truth not by hiding it away somewhere but by passing it on. His instructions were embarrassingly simple: tell others people what you've been told about Jesus. Paul charged Timothy to teach about Jesus to faithful folks, who... Well, you get the pictures ( 2 Timothy 2:1-2). Paul urges Titus to pick leaders for his Church who could hold strongly to what they had been taught, not straying at all from what they were told ( Titus 1:9). Good memory, in other words ---the ability to hold steadfastly to the clear image of Jesus that had been presented to them, so that they could pass that image on. And that's Church. Transmitting from person to person the truth about Jesus. For Paul, remaining centred on Jesus was of the utmost importance. Maintaining a clear view of Jesus was the role of the Church.
"Your thrown shall be established forever," special favour, liberation, instance of moving through!
