Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. ( Ephesians 5:25

The Bible does not only tell husbands to love their wives but also tells them how to love; as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it. In as much as there exists what we call emotional or affectionate love, the Bible passage above says that every husband who is a Christian must love his wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it. Remember that Christ died for us when we were in sins. When we did not deserve it. This means that every husband must act sacrificially to his wife even when she sins against him or does what he dislikes. Jesus Christ himself also commanded us that our love must be as he has loved us.
